Kristoffer Petersson, a.k.a. Live Operator, is a singer/songwriter from Gothenburg, Sweden. The songs of Live Operator can be described as a mix of old school blues, country and soul music, and are influenced by artists such as Sonny Boy Williamson, Townes Van Zandt, Van Morrison, James Brown, Mavis Staples, Al Green and The Band. In 2015 he released the single Jag har sett Johnny Ekström for the album Blåvitt bäst i Sverige, a tribute to Swedish football club IFK Göteborg. The song is as much a tribute to the Swedish football player Johnny Ekström, as it is a homage to the former Napoli player Diego Armando Maradona.

Jag har sett Johnny Ekström
Över taken bakom Liseberg
Finns ett annat tidsbegrepp
Hela världen verkar stanna
Bredvid en Kallebäcksexpress
Sha-la-la-la-la
Sha-la-la-la-la
Jag har sett Johnny Ekström
Sha-la-la-la-la
Sha-la-la-la-la
Jag har sett Johnny Ekström
Och man hörde bort i Olskroken
Långt bort i Redbergslid
Hur det ekade i betongen
När han drog fram på Ullevi
Sha-la-la-la-la
Sha-la-la-la-la
Jag har sett Johnny Ekström
Sha-la-la-la-la
Sha-la-la-la-la
Jag har sett Johnny Ekström
Över taken bakom Liseberg
Finns ett annat tidsbegrepp
Det är bara vinden som kan färdas
Som en Kallebäcksexpress
Sha-la-la-la-la
Sha-la-la-la-la
Jag har sett Johnny Ekström
Sha-la-la-la-la
Sha-la-la-la-la
Ghost
Like a blue singing bird
Neath the cover of the leaves
I’m hiding away from this old world
Like a train down the line
With the headlights turned down
I’m passing through the night like a ghost
Lord I’m passing through the night like a ghost
Now this old crooked road
Keeps leading me astray
And I’m running out of places to go
And the lights across the tracks
Keeps leading me back
And the night is no time to be alone
Lord the night is no time to be alone
When all my writing’s gone
And all my singing’s done
I’ll be somewhere on the run
Like a blue singing bird
Neath the cover of the leaves
I’m hiding away from this old world
Like a train down the line
With the headlights turned down
I’m passing through the night like a ghost
Lord I’m passing through the night like a ghost
Undisputed No.1
It was known on the circuit
That that kid could really drive
When he died on the track in ’52
He could turn them corners
Man he’d time them runs
And all the winning came easy
Well he started getting careless
Back in early ’49
And life outside the track was meager
He spent most the money
And man the management took some
Enough too keep him racing
It was said in the papers
He was born to race cars
Well he raced them hard in ’52
He could turn them corners
Never timed one wrong
And all the winning came easy
Well he left some trophies
A bunch of debts
And a big house
And pretty soon he’d be forgotten
He was the true boy wonder
Undisputed No.1
Man that kid could really drive
All to win
The pasture that I walked
Was burnt and broken my the sun
And my eyes felt sore
And my mouth was dry
And I’d catch that long freight train
Going nowhere
And I’d ride the highways
And I’d sail the winds
Just like when you’re young
And you’ve got all to win
I gazed upon the crowd
Resting heavy on my feat
And my head felt numb
And my arms felt weak
And I’d face the final rumble
Of the twelve-rounder
And I’d get one back
And I’d swing one still
Just like when you’re young
And you’ve got all to win
I worked the land
Turned the wheels
And raced the track
Just like when you’re young
And you’ve got all to win
It’s hard to find a decent job
They work you like
An old machine
And they cast you aside
Like a broken wheel
And I’d got out further west
To get a new one
And I’d find me some
And I’d quit me some again
Just like when you’re young
And you’ve got all to win
I held out my hand
To some people I’d meet
And I turned around
And I took my leave
And I’d go out for to catch
The silver lining
And I’d ride the highways
And I’d sail the winds
Just like when you’re young
And you’ve got all to win
